		<description>Leasing occasionally makes sense for an asset that will be used over several years.  This does not include computers.  I am very careful about my IT expenditures, too, but leasing is not really a good way to save money on computers.  They have become disposable commodities.  It costs too much to have them repaired.  

Until recently, I always built my own systems.  I have recently switched to buying refurbished computers.  Both Microcenter and Overstock.com sell refurbished Dell&#039;s with XP Pro for $200-400.  I hate Vista, so this is an important issue.  I refuse to pay Dell to install XP Pro over Vista, which is an option.</description>
